This pretty good and basic map of most of the North America Canals can be found in Ronald E. Shaw’s 1990 book, Canals For A Nation. It is credited to the 1984 Atlas of American History, which I can’t not find online. It doesn’t show most of the river navigations, but all in all, it is not a bad map.
